PRECISION DYNAMICS – TURBOCHARGER WARRANTY & INSTALLATION DECLARATION

1. Warranty Period, Coverage & Transferability

Precision Dynamics warrants its remanufactured and new turbochargers to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service.

  • Highway Commercial & Passenger Vehicles: 12 Months from the date of invoice.

  • Earthmoving, Mining & Heavy Plant Equipment: 6 Months or 1,000 Engine Hours (whichever occurs first) from the date of invoice.

This warranty is strictly limited to the repair or replacement of the turbocharger. It does not cover labor costs for removal or reinstallation, towing, vehicle downtime, or any consequential damages.

Non-Transferable: This warranty is valid only for the original purchaser named on the invoice and does not transfer to subsequent owners if the vehicle or machinery is sold.

2. Mandatory Installation Procedures

A turbocharger is a highly engineered component that relies on the engine for clean oil and air. To validate this warranty, the installing technician MUST complete the following steps:

  • Oil & Filter: Engine oil and oil filter must be replaced with OEM-approved grades at the time of installation.

  • Oil Feed & Return Lines: The oil feed line to the turbocharger MUST be replaced with a brand-new unit. The oil return line must be removed, ultrasonically cleaned, or replaced to ensure zero restriction.

  • Air Intake System: The air filter must be replaced. All intake hoses and the intercooler must be physically inspected and cleaned to ensure no foreign debris, oil sludge, or loose fragments are present.

  • Engine Breathing: The crankcase breather system (PCV/catch can) must be inspected and confirmed to be operating correctly to prevent excessive crankcase pressure.

  • Priming: The turbocharger must be manually primed with clean engine oil prior to connecting the oil feed line. The engine must be cranked without starting until oil pressure is established at the turbocharger.

3. Warranty Exclusions (What is NOT Covered)

Precision Dynamics will deny warranty claims if forensic inspection of the returned unit reveals failure due to:

  • Oil Starvation: Evidenced by blueing, scoring, or seizure of the journal bearings and turbine shaft.

  • Oil Contamination: Evidenced by deep grooving or scoring of the bearings caused by carbon, metal shavings, or coolant in the oil supply.

  • Foreign Object Damage (FOD): Impact damage to the compressor or turbine wheels caused by debris entering the air intake or exhaust manifold.

  • Excessive Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT): Evidenced by heat discoloration, cracking, or melting of the turbine housing, wheel, or VNT/VGT nozzle ring.

  • Overspeed / Overboost: Evidenced by burst wheels, “orange peel” texturing on the back of the compressor wheel, or shaft separation. Note: Failures resulting from unauthorized third-party ECU remapping, performance chips, or bypass valves are strictly excluded. Turbochargers operating under a verified Precision Dynamics ECU calibration remain fully covered under this warranty.

  • Improper Installation: Use of liquid gasket sealants (e.g., silicone) on the oil feed or return flanges.

4. Claim Procedure & Inspections

  1. Authorization: In the event of a suspected failure, the customer must first contact Precision Dynamics via our official WhatsApp channel to log the issue and receive a Return Authorization. Units shipped without prior authorization will not be processed.

  2. Condition: The complete, unmodified turbocharger must be returned for forensic analysis. The unit must not be disassembled or cleaned by the client prior to return.

  3. Documentation: Proof of purchase (Precision Dynamics invoice) alongside proof of mandatory installation procedures (invoices for new oil, filters, and feed lines) must accompany the returned unit.

  4. Denied Claims: If forensic analysis determines the failure was caused by external factors (e.g., oil starvation, contamination, third-party overspeed) and not a manufacturing or workmanship defect, the customer will be liable for a standard diagnostic inspection fee plus all return shipping costs.

5. Governing Law

This warranty, and any disputes arising from the sale or repair of components by Precision Dynamics, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Zambia, including the provisions set forth in the Competition and Consumer Protection Act of 2010.

6. Installer / Client Declaration

By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and executed the mandatory installation procedures. I accept that failure to follow these procedures or provide proof of correct installation will void the Precision Dynamics warranty.
